There is no comparison when it comes to store-bought whipped cream and homemade whipped cream. Homemade whipped cream is very easy to make and is delicious! This whipped cream goes well with brownies, on top of your favorite homemade coffee drink, or with strawberries for an elegant and simple desert. We have added powdered sugar according to our preferences for sweetness so feel free to add more or less to your tastes.
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract or 1/2 vanilla bean scraped
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Combine the heavy whipping cream, pure vanilla extract and powdered sugar in the bowl of your mixer. Beat on medium speed until soft peaks form. Keep an eye on the texture so it is not overbeaten (overbeaten whipped cream will lose its’ fluffy texture and start to look more like whipped butter). Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
